A New Year’s Message to Our Church Family
As we step into a new year, let us take a moment to thank God for His faithfulness to our church, GCF Naga. This past year was not without trials. We faced challenges that tested our strength, our unity, and our trust. Yet through it all, the Lord proved Himself faithful.
By His grace, we stood upon the Scriptures. God’s Word was not merely something we read; it was our foundation. When the situations seemed dire and hard decisions had to be made, His Word gave us guidance. When the road was difficult, His truth reminded us that He is still sovereign, still good, and still at work. The psalmist writes, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). That has been our testimony. His word guided us through it all.
Two of our brothers went home to be with the Lord last year: Brothers Antolen and Gener. We are saddened by their departure, but we know that they are in a much better place now.
God gave us many blessings in the past year. By His grace, we adopted one satellite church in San Pablo. His grace allowed us to contribute to the new bylaws and doctrinal statement of the Conservative Baptist Philippines. Locally, we finished the series on the letters of John, and we also completed a series on the deity of Christ.
As we enter this new year, we do so with gratitude for what God has brought us through and with confidence in where He is leading us. Our calling remains the same: to know Him and make Him known. In doing so, we are to love one another because He first loved us.
Let us move forward together, rooted in Scripture, dependent on prayer, and confident in the unchanging faithfulness of our God. May this new year find us growing in faith, steadfast in hope, and abounding in the work of the Lord.
Soli Deo Gloria.
Grace and peace in the New Year.
